What do you think is difficult or bad about this new navigation? What should be changed? (If you agree with something that's already been said, you can just add your signature under it.)

  • It's not obvious that there will be lower levels of navigation.
See research links on the related page. Counter to some of the goals here, multi-level fly-out menus may actually make navigation and finding things harder for new users.

  • The second level of navigation seems to be there in most of the example here solely to organize the third level.

  • The length of the labels needs to be kept fairly short. Some guidance on that would be helpful.

  • Right now both the "On the Wiki" and "Contribute" menus have links to "Wiki Activity". Neither has links to "Recent Changes", which as an experienced editor and admin of multiple sites, I prefer.

  • The main page now has at least six different kinds of menus on it! In general, that's bad interface design, and it's certainly difficult for new users to cope with. This doesn't even take into account the multiple other ways of navigating (buttons - with at least 3 different looks, links from text, links from images and the search). At a rough guess, about a 1/3 of the main page here is currently used for content, about 1/3 for advertisements and about a 1/3 for menus and navigation.

*I agree 100% with the above comment . Wikia staff should look at this page more often. * ~Happy65 Talk My Amazing Blogs ! 15:26, October 4, 2011 (UTC)
